Martin & Joyce
Martin and Joyce worked in Afghanistan with three growing boys, before teaching in Theological Education in New Zealand for several years. Currently they support leaders of various mission teams across Asia and beyond from their base in Chiang Mai. In their role, they build up mission workers with spiritual and practical advice ranging from living with risk to raising children in cross-cultural settings.
They provide training at conferences and in smaller teams about how to work multiculturally and how to serve in challenging or dangerous contexts. They also seek to strengthen Christian workers and their families in their faith and deepen their resilience so that they are more able to serve long-term.
For 10 years they have been running a camp in New Zealand for teens and young adults raised in missions, providing vital support to young people who are often dealing with adjusting to living and learning in a culture that is their passport country, but unfamiliar as they have been raised overseas.
Please pray for:
- Energy and safe travel for Martin and Joyce as they travel to many countries serving cross-cultural mission workers.
- For the children of mission workers (both young and grown up) as they often feel different to many of their peers, may they have their identity grounded in Christ.
