Your First Visit

A Warm Welcome Awaits You

Coming to church for the first time can feel like a big step, especially if you haven’t been before or it’s been a long time since you last attended.

At Chryston Parish Church, we want you to feel welcome and at home from the moment you arrive.

Whether you’re exploring Christianity, looking for a church to belong to, or simply curious about what happens on a Sunday, there’s a place for you here.

When Do We Meet?

We gather for worship every Sunday, and you’re welcome to join us.

Morning Worship — 10.30am

Our morning service brings people of different ages together to worship God, hear from the Bible and encourage one another in faith.

Evening Worship — 6.30pm

Our evening service is a little more informal, with an opportunity to explore the Bible in greater depth and consider what it means for everyday life.

You’re welcome at either service or both.

When You Arrive

You’ll find people ready to welcome you and help you find your way. If you’re unsure where to go or have any questions, just ask.

There’s no reserved seating or special place you need to sit. Simply choose somewhere you feel comfortable.

You won’t be asked to introduce yourself publicly, and there’s no expectation that you know what to do.

Just come along, take a seat and make yourself at home.

What Happens During Worship?

Our services include singing, prayer, Bible readings and a message exploring what the Bible says and why it matters today.

We sing a mixture of traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs, with words displayed on screens so you can follow along.

There’s no special dress code, and you don’t need to know the songs, prayers or anything about the Bible beforehand.

You’re welcome to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

What About Children and Families?

Children and families are always welcome.

We want children to feel included, valued and encouraged as they discover more about Jesus.

If you’re visiting with children, our welcome team will be happy to explain what’s available and help you settle in.

And please don’t worry if little ones make some noise. We’re glad they’re here!

Accessibility and Hearing Support

We want everyone to feel included and able to participate in worship.

Our church has an assisted hearing system, with devices available for anyone who would benefit from help hearing the service. You don’t need to wear a hearing aid to use one.

Simply speak to a member of our welcome team, who will be happy to help.

If you have other accessibility needs, please get in touch before your visit so we can help where possible.

Will I Be Asked to Give Money?

An offering may be taken during the service, but there’s absolutely no expectation that visitors contribute.

We’re simply glad you’ve come.

What Happens Afterwards?

We hope you’ll feel comfortable staying for a chat and getting to know some of the people who make up our church family.

But there’s no pressure. If you’d rather simply come along, enjoy the service and head home afterwards, that’s absolutely fine too.

Can I Come If I’m Not a Christian?

Of course!

You don’t need to believe everything we believe, know anything about the Bible or have all the answers.

Church is a place to explore life’s big questions, discover more about Jesus and consider what Christian faith might mean for you.

Questions, doubts and curiosity are all welcome.

We Look Forward to Meeting You

At Chryston Parish Church, our desire is to be a community where people are welcomed, friendships grow and lives are shaped by the love of Jesus Christ.

If you’re thinking about visiting, we’d love to meet you.

Come as you are. You’re welcome here.
